1. Keynote Live-Many people have liked Nearpod, but have disliked the limits the free version has. Keynote Live can be a replacement program! Keynote Live allows you to lead your class through a slide presentation. The one downfall is that it is not interactive yet, in that the audience cannot send answers back to the teacher. What you can do, however, is you can embed a link to a Go Formative (which has all of the best features like multiple choice, short answer, show your work, etc.) that the kids can click on. Watch this video to find out how it works and feel free to reach out to me with questions!
2. iOS 11 Tour-To help get to know iOS11, Alison Mahoney, the lovely TIS at Ross/Sullivan, put together this presentation. Feel free to use it with your students or for yourself! 3. Book Creator-Book creator can be used for more than just books! For this photo, I found the background on Google, added the Schoology logo to it in Pages, saved the image and sent it to Green Screen. Then I took my photo with my background and sent it to Book Creator. I chose the Comic template in Book Creator and added the frame, title, and speech bubble! If you have an idea but aren't sure how to go about creating it, let me know!

1. Calendar Events from Email: When you receive an email that has a date and/or time listed, Gmail will underline the time. If you click on what is underlined, an 'Add to Calendar' will appear. If you choose that option, it will automatically open your Google Calendar and give you the option to add it to your calendar. 2. Reordering 'Open In'-You (and students) can change the order of apps that appear when you select 'Open In,' 'Send a Copy' or use the 'Sharrow' on the iPad. Move your most frequently used apps to the beginning to save time! 3. Workload Planning-As we use the calendar and assignment features more seamlessly in our classrooms, don't forget about this handy feature! You can look at your course and view the assignments each student has due throughout the week. This is especially helpful while planning larger assignments like tests and projects!
1. iOS11 Update-You have the green light to update your iPads to iOS11. Students will get notified via Schoology on Friday to update at home over the weekend As with any update, make sure to back up all files & photos that you want to save before updating. Please also leave enough time for the update to complete while on a WiFi network and plugged into a charger. Here is a presentation of the 11 Best Features for the Classroom. There are many more fantastic features, but this will be a great place to start! If you or your students experience any type of issue, please put in a tech ticket to notify the tech team. Most apps will need to be updated after making the change to iOS11. 2. Before Seeing Ms. Sutter-As much as I love seeing our students, please make sure that they have tried to troubleshoot their tech issue before coming down to my office. I attached a sign of steps to complete before coming down to my office. Feel free to hang it in your classroom (if you'd like). I will also share it with the students on Schoology. 3. Gmail Session-During our Institute Day, I had you mark topics that you were interested in focusing on. One of the big topics that came up was how to officially make the switch from Apple Mail to Gmail, how to organize Gmail, and any tricks that Gmail has to offer. I will be doing this session with our new staff on Friday, October 27th during 9th period. If you are free during that period and would like to join us, we will be in Sam Lynn's room. I would also like to offer an after school (Thursday, October 26th) or before school (Friday, October 27th) for any teachers who cannot make it during 9th period. If you are interested in this session, please check your calendar and then fill out this Doodle. The session with the most interest will be chosen.
1. Schoology Due Dates-Have you ever had a lesson that took an extra day than planned, but you have already scheduled the due dates of your assignments? You can edit all of the due dates at once by using the 'Bulk Edit' tool. This tool is located in your Gradebook on Schoology. Click the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner and choose 'Bulk Edit.' From here, you can change many of the settings of your assignments, including changing the due dates for your assignments. 2. New Signs in the Labs-The labs have new signs in them for when you experience an issue with a computer. They have a QR code for our Web Help Desk and a reminder of what to include on your ticket. 3. Do Not Disturb-Notifications while projecting can be extremely distracting for teachers and students alike! You can hide these notifications by turning on Do Not Disturb while you're teaching. Just hold the 'option' key and click on the 3 bars in the top left-hand corner of your screen. This will cause the icon to turn gray and for Do Not Disturb to be turned on. Thank you, Maria, for showing me this neat trick!
