1. Flipgrid Mixtapes-Flipgrid just released the Mixtape feature! This feature allows you to curate videos from your classes/grids and share them as a view only page. This can be used for a myriad of purposes, but sharing out to parents, creating a 'best of' board, filming students receiving a Pride Paw, are all ideas that come to mind! Learn more here! 2. Quizizz-Quizizz has gone through some pretty neat updates over the last few months! Learn more here! 3. Gmail Undo Feature-Have you ever sent an email and then realized you sent it to the wrong person or forgot to attach something? Turn on Gmail's Undo Feature to help you out! Go to the Gear Symbol > Settings > General > Undo Send > Change to 30 Seconds. Now, after sending an email, you will see the following pop-up at the bottom left-hand corner of your inbox. Click Undo to pull the email back!

Instructional Goals-Goal setting is upon us! While your goal doesn't need to be tech specific, it does need to be learning focused and include how tech will be a resource. For this goal, make sure you are able to collect some form of data. Set up an appointment with me to hone your goal and craft it in such a way that it is specific enough for actionable data to be collected.
AirDrop with Apple Classroom-Did you know that you can airdrop items from your iPad to the students in your class through Apple Classroom? You can airdrop anything where the 'sharrow' button appears. Is a student having trouble opening a document on Schoology, but the rest of the class can? Have them submit a tech ticket and use airdrop to get them the doc in the meantime. Google Calendar-I like to double check my committee dates to make sure that I have accurately put them all into my Google Calendar. To look at all of the events on one screen, I use the search bar to pull up all meetings with that keyword. In the example below, I searched TLT to generate a list of all of my meeting dates and then compared it with the D23 Committee Information Doc! 1. YouTube-Due to our need to have student access to YouTube videos through Schoology, EdPuuzzle, CK-12, and Stemscopes, we have enabled a filtered version of YouTube to be available for our students. Although we do not directly allow our students to have the YouTube app on their devices, it is available for instructional use through class assignments and via a web browser such as Chrome or Safari. Using Securly, we are able to filter the content both at school and at home, but no system, however, is 100 percent effective in screening out all objectionable content. It may be prudent to have a discussion with your classes about classroom expectations and YouTube.
2. Google Apps Permissions-There is a Google setting that allows you to set an expiration date for specific users. This feature only applies to comment and view only access, however, the comment feature could be exactly what you are looking for! Check out the attached video for directions! Yesterday at our staff meeting we discussed how we can transfer ownership of a daily agenda to our students. Below is a screenshot of a daily agenda that has been shared as view only on Schoology. I then gave comment access (suggestion mode) to Student 1 for 7 days and filled out the agenda as the student. The rest of the class cannot see the edits until I tap on the check marks on the right-hand side. This would help ensure that the student edits are correct and ready to be shared with the class. 1. FlipGrid-FlipGrid announced this summer that they would be opening up their entire platform for free to all users! This is great news as it now allows us to use previously 'premium' features! Check out this updates page to learn more. Some of my favorites are GridPals and teacher vibes! They also put together an educator eBook to help you get started and learn about everything this platform has to offer! I attached it below.
2. Book Creator-Book Creator also had some updates over the summer! The biggest change is that you can now embed all sorts of media into a book. FlipGrids, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Explain Everything, you name it! Book Creator for Chrome was released last year and has continued to improve! The best feature of Book Creator for Chrome is that you can create a Library and have students upload their books for the rest of the class to view. You can create 1 Library and upload up to 40 books (you can also archive books to make room for new ones). This is perfect for sharing student work! 3. Rearrange Schoology Courses-Rearrange your Schoology courses so that they are in chronological order! Follow the steps below. 4. FastBridge & Apple Classroom-FastBridge testing starts next week! Get prepared by setting up your Apple Classrooms! Follow this tutorial (pages 2-5) to set up your class. If you need help, please contact me! 5. PowerSchool & Schoology-Reminder that it is my personal goal to get all Schoology gradebooks synced to PowerSchool! If you need help, please set up an appointment with me!
