1. IDEAcon Resources-As presentations are given at IDEAcon they are added to this Symbaloo. Check back over the next week to look at and steal resources!
2. MyLearningPlan Settings-You can turn on email notifications for upcoming events in MyLearningPlan. Go to the Professional Growth section of the site > My Info > My User Profile. From here, you can turn on many different notifications, but the most helpful may be "Upcoming Activities Reminder."

1. Advisory-We have a couple of additional items to tidy up on the device management end, so today and Thursday we will be setting a few iPads to Lost Mode during Advisory. Please send any students that have a Lost Mode screen down to the library. We just have to get some information from their device and put it into our management system. We anticipate this being around 10-15 students. Please let me know if you have any questions. 2. Translate Google Docs-Yet another reason to make Google Docs one of your favorite apps! Google Docs has a translation feature built in! Go to Tools > Translate > Select the Language. Once you have selected the language you would like to be used, Google Docs will create a new document with that language. 3. Command + Shift + V-You may already be familiar with the shortcut Command + V to paste copied items, but something really awesome happens when you add Shift to that shortcut. By using the shortcut Command + Shift + V, whatever you have copied will be pasted in the format that matches the rest of the document! This saves you the time needed to change the font, size, and color to match your document after you paste text into it. Here is a video to show you how it works! 1. Student iPad Updates-You may have seen my posts on Schoology reminding students to update their iPads (actually, you may not have seen them on your laptop, but they do appear on the iPad app!) to 13.3.1. I will send out one more reminder on Friday and then will begin calling down students during Advisory to update their iPads in my office. I will have Chris & Justin here to help and we will email you and the student the day before to come down to my office. If the timing does not work well for you, that's fine! Just let us know and we can call them down another day. Our goal is to have every student updated for IAR/ISA testing, so we have plenty of time. 2. Chrome-Did you know that if you right click on any tab you get several useful options? One of my favorites is "Close Tabs to the Right." This is great for everyday organization! 3. Highlight Image Assessment Questions-The highlight image question type in Schoology assessments is one of the neatest (and probably underutilized) one that I've seen! Students are able to draw on any picture that is uploaded like a blank page for a whiteboard, text for highlighting, diagrams for showing understanding, etc. The teacher view shows the question being solved and then freezes on the final answer. While this question type will not automatically grade for you, it can be very useful for questions that otherwise would not fit well in the other question formats. 4. Schoology-It looks like Schoology is experiencing some disruption again today. If you are ever wondering if Schoology is experiencing issues, check their status dashboard! Unfortunately, there isn't anything we can do besides wait until Schoology has fixed the issue. Additionally, if students get logged out of their Schoology accounts, please do not send them down to my office. They have the directions in their Student Tech Ticket app on their iPad! They need to tap on the Tech Ticket webclip > choose "I need login help" > choose "Schoology" and then they will be given text (and picture) directions for logging in!
